KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) -- The National Union of the Teaching Profession (NUTP) has launched a new insurance scheme to add to its six existing schemes for its 160,000 members Friday.
NUTP president Hashim Adnan said the "Livin' Pay Plus" scheme, introduced in collaboration with Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) Berhad, is a newer version of existing schemes under the union.
"Besides increasing the protection coverage period from age 65 to 75, it also offers benefits for the members' spouses and children. Their kids can also join the scheme until they are 75," he said while speaking at the launching of the scheme here Friday.
The Livin' Pay Plus scheme offers eight premiums ranging from RM44 to RM262, and a fund unit where scheme holders can withdraw money for emergency purposes.
It also provides coverage for 36 critical illnesses including heart attack, stroke, cancer and paralysis.
